We were very glad we invited Jacquie Surgenor Gaglione to be our guest speaker for our La Leche League Canada (LLLC) AB/NWT volunteer workshop. The session on Burn Out: how to recognize it and strategies to prevent it, was personal and I know many of our volunteer Leaders could relate to the examples Jacquie used. She had taken the information about our organization from our initial meeting so her talk was applicable to many of the situations our volunteers might experience. She showed she cared about their work and feelings, and wanted to help them find ways to change things for the better. The second session on making improvements within our organization left us feeling very positive with actual goals we could work on together or individually. She kept this interactive session simple, straightforward and structured yet left time for brainstorming and creative thoughts to emerge. The room was buzzing with excitement about the ideas for their volunteer work going forward. Thanks for making our Leader Day 2024 positive and constructive.

Jacquie came out to speak at our character symposium for our hockey club. The kids found the presentation relatable in the stories that were shared and valued the message about trust and respect among teammates. She knew her audience and the presentation was specifically geared to the ages of the athletes in our club. This was the first time we had Jacquie out. As an organizer, I appreciated how easy she was to work with and how organized she was. I would definitely recommend as a speaker for youth conference or engagement.

We recently had Jacquie speak at our Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce International Women's Day event. During the event her presentation was well-received by both the females and males in the audience and left everyone with a few fantastic take home messages. I would not hesitate to book Jacquie to speak for our organization again.
