A Blueprint for Team Success: Turn your Group into a High Performing Team
Teams don’t become cohesive by accident. High performing teams make better decisions, achieve more, and stay engaged.
The Model
The Five Behaviours of a Cohesive Team is a proven framework based on Patrick Lencioni’s bestselling book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. It helps teams develop the essential behaviours needed for true collaboration: building trust, engaging in healthy conflict, committing to decisions, holding each other accountable, and focusing on collective results. This structured approach creates stronger, more effective teams that communicate better, make smarter decisions, and drive long-term success.

- Are people hesitant to speak up during meetings, only to voice concerns afterward in "the meeting after the meeting"?
- Are unmet needs or frustrations being ignored, causing resentment to build?

For Groups and Teams
Assessments & Training
For teams that want to go beyond individual insights and build lasting cohesion, this two-phase process helps members understand The Five Behaviours and take targeted action to improve team effectiveness.
phase 1
Before working on the team as a whole, each member completes a Five Behaviours Personal Development Assessment to:
Understand the core principles of a cohesive team.
Identify their own strengths and challenges in teamwork.
Learn how their personal style impacts team dynamics.
Through an interactive training session, team members gain a shared language and practical strategies they can apply right away.
phase 2
Once individuals understand the model, the team completes a Five Behaviours Team Assessment, which provides:
A teamwide evaluation of the Five Behaviours.
A rating for each behaviour, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
Specific, actionable steps to enhance teamwork and performance.
Teams can retake the assessment six months later to measure progress and ensure continuous growth.
While Phase 1 isn’t required, it sets the foundation for success. When individuals understand their own approach to teamwork first, the team assessment has a greater impact—leading to deeper insights and lasting change.

No, but it’s highly recommended. When individuals first understand their own approach to teamwork, the team assessment has a greater impact—leading to deeper insights and lasting change.
-
The personal assessment takes about 15-20 minutes to complete, and the training session is typically 2-3 hours. The team assessment and debrief take a half or full day, depending on the level of discussion and action planning.
-
The Five Behaviours Team Assessment works best for teams of 5-12 people who work closely together. For larger groups, we can explore multiple team assessments or customized training options. For smaller teams, training on the personal approach works well and I can incorporate discussion on the team approach.
-
Item descriptionTeams that complete the Five Behaviours Team Assessment receive a complimentary follow-up assessment six months later with the same group. This allows you to measure progress, see where you've strengthened as a team, and identify areas that still need attention.
